How do I merge one list with another?

If agencies usually prefer to work with separate contact lists to better control a portfolio made of independent customer accounts, the majority of users finds it more convenient to have a single unified list which gathers all of their target audience. If you are one of them, merging lists will allow you to save time in the maintenance of your contacts and the analysis of statistics.

In Contacts > Manage Contact Lists, click on the icon “Merge List”    of one of the two lists to be combined (1)

Our step-by-step wizard guides you through the entire process:

1.      Select the list (2) you want to merge your list (1) with
2.      Fill in the name of the new list (3)

   
    

3.      Select the fields to be transferred from one list to the other.
   • If your lists contain no more than 2 types of field (ie. name + email), transferring data is very easy. On the other hand, if you handle multiple data parameters in your lists, take your time to match the fields properly. And, remember that if you do not select any fields, the data will get lost in the (3).

     
      

4.      Click merge and wait while we are processing the data
   • The response time of the application is very fast but it depends on lists length and complexity
5.      You are done! You are ready to start emailing your new list!

Don’t worry about duplicated contacts: the system finds duplicated entries and avoid importing anew the same contact from list (2) into list (1). Also, our platform only merges active contacts: hard bounces, unsubscribes or accounts pending validation are not transferred.

Bear in mind that your merged list is a new list, run and managed separately from the two previously merged lists. Each one is independent and the changes that might occur in one list will not be reflected in the others.
