Acrelia News allows you to upload images up to 200kb. If you wish, you can use heavier images hosted on your server, as explained in this article. However, our recommendation, whether you use one method or another, is that you optimise the images you use in your newsletter, to improve the user experience and avoid partial downloading on mobile devices.
What do I do if my image is too heavy?
The first thing you can do to reduce the weight without losing quality is to reduce its dimensions.
The Acrelia News editor works with two dimensions:
What do I do if my image has the right dimensions but is still too heavy?
If you use an image editor like Photoshop, you will surely have an option called "Save for web", this allows you to optimise images for online viewing, being able to configure, among others, the file format, the quality and see how much the optimised file will occupy before saving. This way you can reduce the weight of your image.
To further reduce the size of your image (and protect your privacy), you can also delete the image metadata (EXIF) from the file properties option on your computer.
