As a mass emailing service in Acrelia News we are obliged to comply with the regulations of commercial communications and anti-spam laws. This means that we must always offer an unsubscribe link in all campaigns sent with our platform, we must automatically disable unsubscribes from your list and process returns and spam complaints.
Your list subscribers should always have the option to unsubscribe at any time. In Acrelia News we use a double opt-in/opt-out system, so when a contact unsubscribes from your list, the platform will ask them to confirm their email and they will be asked the reasons why they wanted to unsubscribe. The double opt-in system, apart from being used to ensure that the subscriber wants to unsubscribe, is useful in the case of newsletter forwarding, so that no one can unsubscribe on behalf of another subscriber without their consent. Sending an email to someone who has already unsubscribed is a violation of the law and we must ensure that the unsubscribe process is automatic.
It is important to know that when a subscriber unsubscribes they are unsubscribing from that specific list. In Acrelia News lists work independently, that is, the same email counts as two different subscribers if it is in different lists. If you are interested in having a general unsubscribe we recommend you to have a single list and segment it by groups.
Our system adds a newsletter footer with customised "Unsubscribe" and "Update your details" links. This footer cannot be removed. If you import your own HTML and the system detects that you have not included the corresponding unsubscribe tag, it automatically adds a footer to your campaign including the "Unsubscribe" link.
If you wish, you could include your own unsubscribe link, but you will have to notify the platform manually or in bulk with files or via API. If you wish to use this option you will need to contact our support team.
